
The BCLAD Emphasis prepares the holder to provide services to limited-English proficient students in English language development and specially designed content instruction as well as content instruction and language and literacy development in the target language
BCLAD certification is available at Cal Poly Pomona in Spanish. An Asian language BCLAD Emphasis may also be earned through the California State University (CSU) Asian Language BCLAD Consortium. The Cal Poly Pomona Spanish BCLAD Emphasis may be earned while completing a Preliminary Multiple or Single Subject CLAD Credential. An Asian language BCLAD Emphasis may be earned while completing a Preliminary CLAD Multiple Subject Credential. A Korean BCLAD may also be earned with a Preliminary Single Subject CLAD credential.
The Cal Poly Pomona BCLAD Programs are accredited by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC). State BCLAD examinations are not required when a CCTC approved university program is completed.
