Graduate Programs

The Master of Arts in Education is an advanced degree offered at Cal Poly Pomona. Although the M.A. degree is in Education, specific emphases are available in:

A minimum of 45 quarter units of acceptable graduate level work must be completed in the program, with at least 24 quarter units at the 500 & 600 level. Credential methods courses and student teaching may not be applied to the master's degree. Thirty-two (32) units of coursework must be taken in residency.

Prerequisites for Admission:
Bold Dot  Bachelor of Arts degree from an accredited institution
Bold Dot  Teaching credential (Multiple Subject, Single Subject, Education Specialist) or current enrollment in a credential program. Foreign students are exempt from this requirement.
Bold Dot  GPA minimum of 3.0
Bold Dot  Passing score on the Graduate Writing Test (GWT). Information is available in the Cal Poly Test Center, 909-869-3353
Bold Dot  Foreign students must have a TOEFL score of at least 580. Information is available in the Cal Poly Test Center, CLA 98-P2-4
