The primary goal of Cal Poly Pomona’s Teacher Internship Program is to prepare qualified individuals for the teaching profession. The Internship Program is particularly dedicated to preparing teachers who will be key members of an educational team and leaders in their field. The Internship Program is generally completed during an intensive two-year period, which includes University study during the Academic Year as well as two summers. The Administrative Intern Program serves participating school district's who require the appointment of an individual to a position requiring an Preliminary Administrative Services Credential. The goal of the University's Intern Program is to serve the needs of the participating school districts while insuring that participants acquire the skills to be educational leaders. The University Administrative Intern Program requires the district to enter into an agreement that outlines the responsibilities of the candidate recommended for the Internship, the district, and the University. The University's Program will provide Interns with a foundation of theory and knowledge while the Site Supervisor and the Program Coordinator will provide a foundation of practical experience for the Intern. That experience will include activities that will further the goals of both the candidate and the district. The agreement between the district and the University will be evidence of its commitment to provide appropriate support for the Intern in the activities agreed to by the Intern, the Site Supervisor, and the Coordinator.
