Yes, There are two major tracks.
What does the GEMS major consist of?
The EWS Department has two main tracks for students within our major: the pre-credential BA track for those wishing to become elementary school teachers and the general tack for those desiring a BA in Gender, Ethnicity and Multicultural Studies (GEMS).

The GEMS major consists of two tracks:

(i) the regular GEMS program for non-bilingual students. Bilingual students planning to pursue a BCLAD are required to declare a concentration either in Chicano/Latino or Asian American studies. Courses in the Chicano/Latino concentration must include EWS 202 and 402 (Chicano/Latino).
Courses in the Asian American concentration must include EWS 204, 404 and 301 (which focuses on a target Asian group).
(ii) a blended BA/credential program for non-bilingual students
(iii) a blended BA/credential program for bilingual students wishing to pursue the BCLAD.
