This web site was developed using materials provided by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. It is designed to help you understand and move through the California Teaching Performance Assessment (CA TPA). You will complete four performance tasks at different stages during your teaching preparation program.
The TPA Candidate Handbook will provide you with additional resources to support the CA TPA process. It will inform you about the Teaching Performance Expectations (TPEs). A glossary of educational terms as they are used in the CA TPA and the needed student and adult release forms are also included.

It is important to remember the commitment and time that teacher candidates gave to completing the CA TPA tasks, including these cases and video clips. We are privileged to have the opportunity to take a look at teaching practice as voluntarily demonstrated by these individuals. What we view represents a specific moment in their teaching practice and is not necessarily indicative of their current practice. Therefore, we should view these cases and video clips professionally, and we must treat all video segments and assessment materials with great care and respect.
All documents on this site were revised by the CCTC, August 2005.
